What is Magic Part 2: The Evolution of Power

Magic is seeing with the poetic perspective: seeing the perfection behind the appearances.
— The Seer Almine

This is the second part of the introduction in the Book of Spells by the Seer Almine. In this post, the Seer explains the differences between the 3 types of magic that exist.

First-Ring Magic

“The only way to obtain power without damaging the interconnectedness of life is through perception. First-ring used ritual, incantations, and other external sources of power. This must eventually deplete not only the practitioner but the environment as well. In addition, the power available through left-brain methods is limited, whereas that available through the right-brain, internal methods is not.

First ring magic causes environmental disruption and catastrophe through depleting the environment and disrupting the Earth’s energetic flow. The planetary energy flows along its leylines or meridians. In addition, each species has a grid telling it how to act. These grids are arrays of lines along which light, in the form of information, flows.

When these, as well as the leylines, are disrupted, the planet tilts on her axis or draws other catastrophes due to the lack of life force. The potential for the abuse of magic is a very real threat when first magic is used, since it doesn’t require the practitioner to develop impeccability. Knowledge of certain practices is all that is needed. Power seekers have disrupted the environment with first-ring magic since its introduction to humanity.

For the most part, the magical kingdoms have very strict rules governing the use of magic, with dire consequences for its use. Exceptions have been, among others, the demons and sometimes the dragons.

Since the *planetary and cosmic ascension began, the Mother Goddess has decreed that the power to do magic be matched by a corresponding degree of perception. This removed the destructive magical abilities from beings in the cosmos.

Second-Ring Magic

Second-ring magic changes the world by changing within.

Second ring magic has been used by fairies, elves, pixies, and other beings from the magical kingdoms to create, grow, and sustain plant and mineral life. Angels have done the same for human and animal life. Large planetary angels sustain planets; smaller ones govern oceans, rivers, lakes, and mountain ranges. Angels support humans in many ways, some staying with a single human all their life, much as a guardian spirit would.

Therefore, it can be said that magic, or the power of intent, is the primary force that carries out the will of the Infinite within the cosmos. Only when it becomes exclusive or self-centered does it destroy rather than sustain life.”

To reiterate from What is Magic: An Introduction, Part 1, second-ring magic uses right-brain, feminine, non-cognitive methods of affecting reality. The magic originates from within rather than from without. These methods come in the form of feelings, attitudes- more specifically, what the Seer refers to as “ascension attitudes “ like love, praise, and gratitude.

The Evolution of Power

There are three ways of affecting the environment indirectly:

Through Transfiguration, Transmutation and Transformation

The world around us can only be changed without karmic repercussions if we change it indirectly. If we try and change it directly, we are trying to force our will onto the ever-changing flow of existence. This is, in the broadest sense, a form of black-magic - no matter how well intended we are.

There are two types of karmic chains we can wear: The iron chains of hurtful deeds and the golden chains of good deeds. Good deeds stem from the arrogance of thinking that we can fix life.

Trying to directly change your circumstances is often not very successful. One who tries to master lucid dreaming knows that when you try to study an object directly in the dream, you are immediately pulled into another part of the dream. The dream changes as a result of direct focus.

The outcome of scientific experiments changes depending on which scientist is doing the experiment. Therefore, trying to change something that alters when you focus on it is not effective.

The Two Approaches to Changing the Environment

  1. To capture circumstances and enforce changes on it using an external power source. It creates karmic repercussions because it dams up the flow of life, and because all of life is interconnected, causes stress and pain (forced change) somewhere in life. This is first-ring or black magic.

  2. The indirect approach allows life to unfold, but eliminates those factors that cause obstruction through emphasizing something else. The shift of emphasis changes the outcome indirectly. This is second-ring magic.

Personal power decreases when we try and force our will (resistance) onto life, and when we become dependent on external power sources such as various allies.

Personal power increases through the use of second-ring magic, or the indirect principles of manifestation.

Changing the world to a reality of more graceful unfolding has been a quest of lightworkers. Yet many have shunned the study of how to achieve the power necessary for a beneficial contribution.

Power has been feared as something that can pollute their purity, and thus it has been left in the hands of the ill-intended. Mastering the impeccable use of power is essential for those who wish to contribute to a better world.

Transfiguration, Transmutation, and Transformation

  1. Through the use of Perception: (Transfiguration)

Perception yields power-something light seekers will encounter whether they are prepared for it or not. The power can be directed through intent, but we will then run into the risk of imposing our will on life.

Perception based tools such as rituals, runes, incantations and healing modalities like Belvaspata (an angelic healing modality that brings the insights needed to change the reality to one of a higher one through the heart), can be broadcast intent when accompanied by insights.

A broad intention is set, such as: “I enter into the full abundance of my being.” The specifics of how the money and other resources will come is not focused on.

As perception removes obstructed vision, the power tied up in keeping obstructions in place is released and directed into the ceremony or ritual which has been set up for the purpose of broadcasting your broad intention.

This mobilizes elements to manifest your hopes in a far more spectacular way than you could have visualized yourself. All you have to do is hold an attitude of glad expectation.

  2. Through the use of *Frequency and Resonance (Transmutation)

The use of frequency and resonance to powerfully affect our environment uses emphasis to increase the desirable elements in our surroundings.

If we wish to have more abundance, we begin by being more abundant with ourselves in terms of time to relax, fulfilling the little desires of our heart, etc. If we wish to be loved and accepted, we stop abandoning ourselves in favor of others.

When difficult people are in our lives, we find within them the praiseworthy part that we can resonate with and emphasize it as a song in our heart when we are with them.

  3. Through removing Obstructive Filters (Transformation)

We remove the obstruction in our environment by finding a similar obstructiveness within ourselves and removing it through insight and intent.

We honor the purpose served by the filter in our vision or the obstructive attitude, but recognize that it is time for a higher vision. In this way, we avoid the pitfall of strengthening what we oppose.
